Historic Structure Reports

The purpose of a Historic Structure Report (HSR) is to provide detailed information about a building’s history, construction, use, and current status through archival research, graphic representation, and assessment of existing conditions. The HSR is a first step in any project involving a historic structure that may include alterations to the fabric of the building, including repairs, renovations, or additions. The HSR allows project managers to plan for the use of compatible materials or designs in the project, and also provides guidance for routine maintenance.

HDC conducts HSRs for a variety of clients, from individual municipalities to federal agencies. The expertise and experience of HDC’s staff is key in producing comprehensive HSRs that meet the needs of the client and anticipate future issues.
