B&O Railroad Depot
Hardlines Design Company (HDC) provided architectural and planning services to renovate and convert a turn-of-the-century train depot, the B&O Railroad Depot, into a public assembly/office building for the City of Mount Vernon, Ohio. Programmed areas include: Reception Hall, Exhibition / Display area, Catering Kitchen, and Office space on two floors. This was a full-service project that included programming through Construction Documentation. Planning services provided include proposed parking and landscape design. The Project involved an exterior renovation (exclusive of roofing that had already been accomplished) and an interior renovation of all original finishes such as wood paneling and plasterwork. As part of the project HDC also provided the design to upgrade all building systems. Opening ceremonies coincided with the 100th anniversary of its initial construction in 1907.
