Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan

Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan
Under contract to Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic Division, Hardlines Design Company (HDC) prepared the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, in 2010, which was finalized in 2012. As with other ICRMPs this one included standard operating procedures for historic building maintenance, recommendations for plan updates, mitigation measures for proposed undertakings, and formal programmatic agreements to be signed by the client and the State Historic Preservation Office. The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard has a large historic district that features distinctive buildings associated with ship construction and repair, and examples of massive granite and brick masonry buildings designed by eminent New England architect Alexander Parris.
