Identification, Cataloguing and Curation
Throughout the course of each Phase I, II and III archaeological investigation, Hardlines Design Company (HDC) personnel thoroughly identify, document, and organize the archaeological collections procured during excavation. HDC has an extensive laboratory facility with dedicated areas for processing, cataloguing, analyzing and photographing archaeological specimens.
Highlights of our laboratory facility include:
- A 100-page In-house Laboratory Manual

HDC can efficiently handle the identification and cataloguing of a broad range of historic and prehistoric artifacts. HDC staff members have expertise in the identification and analysis of historic artifacts, industrial artifacts and animal remains from all time periods. HDC's computerized artifact catalog is designed to integrate with our digital mapping applications to accurately and expediently provide spatial distribution patterns. Digitally photographed artifact collections enhance the reporting process and contribute to the research potential of each collection.
